Hammer Strength MTS Decline Press

For those of us with shoulder pain, pressing exercises are a double edged sword. On one hand, we get the volume work that our chests need to grow, along with the pump that our minds so desperately crave. On the other hand, we have to deal with the shoulder pain and the recovery time that comes from having worked our unwilling shoulders. Decline presses are the perfect compromise for getting the necessary work our chests require while avoiding the dreaded shoulder tax. (Decline presses are largely chest/triceps, as opposed to chest/shoulders that are featured in flat and incline presses). This particular decline press made by Hammer Strength is one of the best, and most underrated chest machines out there. It has two weights stacks – one for each hand  – so that we can train the imbalances between our dominant and non-dominant sides. The movement path of the machine absolutely hammers the lower chest. It’s also an added benefit that we can easily do drop sets on this machine. This one is a hidden gem in the gym.
